In 2019 my world changed when Lily came into my life . Being a first time dog owner, it was shocking the amount of love I felt for this little creature almost immediately. With time, as our bond became stronger, I understood the real meaning of “dogs are man’s best friend”. However, that just falls too short from reality as dogs are family, and in my case, Lily is my baby, the princess of the house, and the inspiration behind this project.

If we could describe the purpose of Chika in one word, it would be LOVE. Love for a product, love for a culture, and most importantly, love for dogs.

Our beautiful and unique accessories are 100% handmade in Chiapas, Mexico by  mayan indigenous communities. Their knitting technique not only showcases colourful Mexican vibes, but also represents hundreds of years of a tradition that has been passed on from generation to generation.

When you purchase one of our accessories, not only are you supporting sustainable labour for these communities but also helping them preserve their culture and traditions.

Lastly, we give back those dogs in most need by sharing 5% of our sales to rescues in Mexico and Canada.
